Diego VILELA MONTEIRO
Diego Vilela Monteiro, PhD, is an HCI researcher who focuses on VR and e-health. He studied at respected institutions in Brazil, China and Germany. Currently based at ESIEA, in Laval, France, he conducts research into immersive technologies and user experience, and teaches at university level. His work focuses on VR applications in Unity, human-computer interaction, haptics and the educational effectiveness of VR. He is passionate about improving virtual environments for users through creative development.

Rebecca FRIBOURG
Rebecca Fribourg is Associate Professor at Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France. His research focuses on the theme of avatars, i.e. digital representations of users in a virtual continuum ranging from virtual reality to augmented reality. Prior to this, she obtained her PhD at the University of Rennes 1 within the Inria research institute in 2020, after which she completed a 6-month post-doctoral internship at Trinity College Dublin. His research offers scientific contributions to the study of avatars, combining new theoretical concepts, innovative technological developments and experimental methodologies, as well as the more psychological aspects that can explain the success or otherwise of these technologies.

Alexandra SIERRA
Alexandra Sierra was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and is the founder of Justin Beaver, a Netherlands-based company dedicated to climate change education for children and teachers using virtual reality and artificial intelligence technologies. She is also Director of XR ACADEMIA, a series of international conferences and publications for educators and researchers focusing on virtual reality and advanced technologies with international impact. She holds a PhD in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence from Tilburg University. As an expert researcher in immersive learning technologies – including virtual, augmented and mixed reality – and conventional technologies such as educational platforms, robotics and video games, Alexandra brings a combination of business and technological knowledge to her role. In 2021, Alexandra received an award for her groundbreaking research into immersive technologies at Laval Virtual, France, and in 2023, she received the Erasmus University of Applied Sciences Business Research Award for her work on Justin Beaver’s experiments in VR and AI. Looking ahead to 2025, she aims to expand her VR-based sustainability education initiatives to make an even greater social impact on a global scale.

Marie RACCUGLIA
Marie has been working in customer experience (CX) and IT fields for more than 14 years, first as a project manager and innovation consultant. She won two international awards in CX, business, and strategy at Vegas & British parliament. She decided to develop VR technology skills, one of the biggest CX and user experience opportunities in the market today. As a CX expert, she joined the European Customer Experience Organization and other innovation consortiums to develop best practices. Her objective is to create the future of the customer/user experience by finding the best mix between user experience issues, business opportunities, and tech/data constraints. Passionate about CX, Innovation, and cognitive sciences, her goal is to invent and re-invent the future user experience and share her passion with others.

Thierry FREY
Thierry Frey has over 25 years of experience in software development and project management in various fields: CADCAM, printing and publishing, 3D animation and live entertainment, augmented and virtual reality. He has been a long-time volunteer in the computer graphics field, an active member of ACM SIGGRAPH and a Board Member of Laval Virtual. Thierry holds a masters degree from Télécom ParisTech and a degree in computer graphics from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.

Antony VITILO
Antony “Skarredghost” Vitillo is an AR/VR developer, entrepreneur, and blogger. He started his career in 2014 with the full-body VR startup ImmotionAR, and since then, he has always striven to disrupt the immersive technologies space. In 2017 he cofounded New Technology Walkers, with which he developed the first mixed reality fitness game, HitMotion: Reloaded, with the support of HTC. Since 2019 he is working with VRrOOm, developing innovative events and concerts in VR, like Jean-Michel Jarre’s Welcome To The Other Side concert, which collected more than 75M views worldwide. Antony’s blog The Ghost Howls is well-known in the XR ecosystem, and he is considered by many as an influencer in the XR industry ecosystem, having participated in important worldwide events like View Conference, WCVRI, and AWE USA.

He specializes in exploring and advising organizations on emerging digital tech trends and their transformative powers. He is passionate, amongst others technology trends, about enhancing the customer and employee digital experience, as well as improving the operational efficiency of organizations across all industries: Automotive, Aerospace, Energy & Utilities, Manufacturing, Transport, Consumer Packaged Goods, Banking/Insurance, Public Services. He is identifying how the most advanced technologies, such as AI, Real Time 3D, Spatial Computing, XR, Natural Interfaces, Digital Twin, IoT, Robotics, Web3, Blockchain technologies can advance brands and organizations with enhanced user experience, business value and sustainability.
