The FAAN project aims to design and deploy an innovative training program for the agriculture of tomorrow, focused on new agricultural technologies: digital technology, robotics, and agrivoltaics. It is structured around several complementary actions, ranging from the creation of training programs and the development of immersive tools and digital platforms to educational experiments on farms. FAAN is part of the France 2030 plan.
XR and Artificial Intelligence for Training and Decision Support in Agriculture – FAAN Consortium
The FAAN consortium presents demonstrators combining virtual, augmented and mixed reality with artificial intelligence to address training, skills development and agricultural transition challenges.
The FAAN consortium showcases several XR demonstrators dedicated to agriculture and viticulture. Among them, the WiDiD Viticulture platform, offers a structured training pathway with 10 VR simulators, enhanced by AI-based feedback to analyse professional gestures and support learner progression. Botanic AR uses augmented reality to support botanical systematics learning. FAAN simulators explore prospective agronomic and climate scenarios.
