In 215 project teams, most of which are shared with major research universities, more than 3,900 researchers and engineers explore new paths, often in an interdisciplinary manner and in collaboration with industrial partners to meet ambitious challenges.

Inria will be presenting the research work of HYBRID and VirtUs project teams. These two research teams are respectively interested in 3D interaction with virtual environments based on the body and mind, and in the creation and simulation of immersive populated virtual scenes, where virtual and real humans coexist, with a sufficient level of realism so that the experience lived virtually and its results can be transposed to reality.

We develop spatial audio plugins, used by sound designers around the world for the production of music, 360 videos and games.
Our virtual acoustic technology powers creative and industrial projects, including Rennes Immersive Opera (2019) L’Hôtel de la Marine (2021) and Saint-Gobain’s Building Acoustics (2023). It received the Developer and Authoring Tools Award at Laval Virtual 2023.

JENII

JENII aims to create new forms of learning environments closer to professional realities, specific to the industry of the future and based on immersive and collaborative environments built around digital twins of real industrial systems.
Digital twins are part of the industrial reality, accessible from anywhere and offering experiential and gamified learning to facilitate learner training and knowledge retention. It is therefore important to integrate digital twins into the training of industry players.

The JENII project aims to produce :
– a platform for designing digital twins ;
– a distribution platform for digital twins ;
– an immersive campus;
– examples of digital twins of real industrial systems;
– guides for creating teaching scenarios using these immersive, interactive twins, and for assessing their impact on learning.

Three levels of training are targeted: from discovery level for high school students to performance level for engineering students. They will also be used for further training.

Toplite International

Founded in 2003, Toplite optics has provided professional optical design solutions for various LED solid-state light source-based lighting needs since its inception. In 2005, a design team named LED3D was established in order to more focus on serving the optical needs of green light source lighting.

At present, the optical design of LED3D has covered the fields of optical imaging, color mixing, high-density convergence, ultra-short focus and matrix optics.
